The image shows Gordon Sutcliffe aged 2 yrs in 1936 sitting in a hayfield with his mother Hilda Sutcliffe (or possibly Auntie Jenn - according to another copy of image), while those around them are involved in haymaking. The man directly behind Gordon and his mother is his father, pitchforking the hay onto the cart. The man on the cart is his uncle Jack, his father's brother. Gordon's wife Dorothy thinks the man in the suit might be Dr Appleyard, who used to come down and talk to the men when they were working in the fields.
