The image shows the front and back pages of the pamphlet for the Service of Thanksgiving for Gordon Sutlciffe, held at Blackshaw Methodist Church on Monday 14th May 2007 . The Service was led by Dorothy's nephew............. It was well attended by family and friends from far and wide, and was followed by a tea was served at the Sportsman's Arms, also locally known as The Kebs.

Gordon lived life well. He had to go to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for a routine exploratory procedure, but unfortunately had a stroke during that procedure. Gordon was in hospital for 6 weeks and sadly never came home again. He died on 26th April 1007.
Gordon’s Adult Life On leaving school Gordon went to work at John Pickles Engineers Mytholm Works as an apprentice fitter from 1942 to 46 He returned to complete his apprenticeship after his National Service. He had varied working life in and around the Calder Valley and Burnley.
He married Dorothy Mills on 22nd March 1952 and the couple went to live at High St Jack Bridge, later moving to “Four Winds” Blackshaw Head in 1969 where he lived for the rest of his life.
