Description
The image shows a collection of oil and petrol cans and containers which were found in Gordon Sutcliffe's sheds when they were being cleared ready for the auction of his goods. The large ones on the left at the back are old army containers. Some of the cans were collectors items, especially the metal ones with logos on them. The were all sold at the auction.
Auction. Following Gordon's death a public auction of his large collection including engineering, motor and farming artefacts was held on his small holding at Blackshaw Head overlooking Colden. It was held on 8th September 2007 and the auctioneers were Silverwoods of Clitheroe. People came from far and wide and many local people attended.
