Description

The image shows 3 of the many tractors owned by Gordon Sutcliffe, lined up ready for auction. Looking at them from right to left, the red one (1) with a box of spares on the ground in front of it is a "David Brown", the pale blue one next to it(2) is a "Ferguson"; then there is another "David Brown" (3), and finally another "Ferguson"(4).
Gordon had nearly finished restoring tractors 1 and 2. The pale blue Ferguson (2) has lights on it and was roadworthy. Gordon was still using it for haymaking before he passed away. It was easy to turn on the road outside their house and had good pulling power.

Gordon's wife Dorothy thinks it was bought at the auction by Gordon Maskill the butcher in Hebden Bridge for his son Stephen.

There are views over to Colden in the background.

Auction. Following Gordon's death a public auction of his large collection including engineering, motor and farming artefacts was held on his small holding at Blackshaw Head overlooking Colden. It was held on 8th September 2007 and the auctioneers were Silverwoods of Clitheroe. People came from far and wide and many local people attended.
